If you don’t want to have to buy a car and would rather keep your current vehicle and its parts running well for a while longer, there are plenty of things you can do. Our Chevy parts center has three tips for you.

Don’t Ignore Small Issues

You know what happens with small issues in a car? They turn into big problems. This is why if you notice an unusual sound or smell or perhaps your car’s performance has changed, you should have it looked at.

It may just be a matter of a small repair or replacement but waiting too long could result in other parts getting affected.

Drive a Little More Carefully

Even if you are a careful driver, it’s possible that you have some bad habits that may be hurting your car parts. If you wait too long to brake, for example, forcibly applying the pedal causes unnecessary strain to your braking system. Gunning the engine instead of picking up speed gradually stresses your engine, too.

Stick to a Service Schedule

The best and easiest way to help your parts last as long as possible is with regular service. A new set of tires, for instance, can last up to around 60,000 miles if you rotate them. If you don’t, they’ll probably wear out closer to 20,000 miles.

Your oil needs to be changed routinely in order to keep your engine running as cleanly and as efficiently as possible. If you neglect this vital service, it won’t be long before you’ll need a big repair or replacement.

You can count on the service center at Woodhouse Chevrolet near Omaha to maintain the parts in your car. Contact us to make an appointment.
