The Upcoming Chevy Silverado EV

If you are a big fan of the Chevy Silverado 1500 but would prefer a vehicle that doesn’t require any gas, you’re in luck. It won’t be long before the Chevy Silverado EV hits dealerships, and here’s what to expect.
Power and Performance
The Chevy Silverado EV will be powered by two electric motors that produce 510 horsepower in the base WT trim, and a whopping 665 horsepower in the RST trim. All-wheel drive will be standard, as well as an available four-wheel steering system.
The RST trim comes with an adaptive air suspension, and the Trail Boss model will include all-terrain tires and locking differentials. The WT trim has a towing capacity of 8,000 pounds, and that climbs to 10,000 pounds with the RST trim. A model that can tow up to 20,000 pounds is expected soon as well.
Driving Range and Charging Time
The Chevy Silverado EV has a 200-kWh battery, which enables it to go up to 400 miles on a single charge. This truck will have DC fast charging capability, and a public charging station will add 100 miles of driving range in only 10 minutes.
And here’s another nifty feature: Thanks to the onboard 240-volt outlet, the Chevy Silverado EV can charge other electric vehicles.
Tech
The digital dashboard in this electric pickup truck consists of an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen and an 8-inch digital gauge display.
You’ll get a huge 17-inch touchscreen in the RST model, along with an 11-inch gauge display. Other features include navigation, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and satellite radio. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® will also be standard.
